NROTC freshmen sail on the lake
The sail training program at Cornell NROTC is one of the most ambitious in the country. It also is one of the finest units in terms of its small boat sailing program. Freshman in the NROTC Unit are required to take a sailing class in order to attain their qualification. During the year, the Unit sends its most skilled sailors to such prestigious sailing regattas as the George Washington University Invitational, Ohio State Invitational, and the MIT Invitational Regatta. With respect to NROTC Regatta sailing, Cornell has dominated the competition in recent years. Additionally, Cornell NROTC hosts its own regatta each fall on majestic Cayuga Lake.
