Scholarship

Welcome to the scholarship page of Cornell Navy ROTC’s Invictus Battalion. Embarking on the journey of naval leadership is both a rigorous and rewarding experience. To help facilitate this journey, we offer scholarships that not only lighten the financial load but also provide practical experiences that are integral in shaping our future leaders.

The NROTC scholarships provide:

1. Complete tuition coverage, ensuring your academic pursuits are unencumbered.
2. A $375 semesterly allowance for textbooks, investing in your academic resources.
3. Full payment for summer training and official travel, underscoring the importance of hands-on experience and travel in your training.
4. A tax-free monthly stipend during the school year (10 months) designed to assist with personal expenses:
– Freshman: $250
– Sophomore: $300
– Junior: $350
– Senior: $400

At Cornell, this comprehensive scholarship could equate to over $50,000 annually, amounting to nearly $200,000 over four years. Each scholarship culminates in a commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy or a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, depending on your choice of a Navy or Marine Corps option selected during the application process. Both options provide identical benefits, although may require slightly different service obligations depending on the specific community within the Navy or USMC you decide to commission into.

You can find more information and apply for the Naval ROTC Scholarship here.

We offer three types of scholarships:

1. Four-Year Scholarships: Exclusively available to high school seniors, this scholarship covers all the benefits mentioned above and leads to a commission in the Navy or Marine Corps.

2. Three-Year Scholarships: Available to Cornell freshmen or university freshmen seeking to transfer to Cornell. This scholarship provides the same benefits and leads to a commission in either the Navy or Marine Corps.

3. College Program: Open to any interested student, the College Program isn’t a scholarship per se, but participants receive uniforms, payment for summer training (upon receiving Advanced Standing), and official travel (if they’re pursuing the Medical Program). College Program midshipmen may apply for a three-year scholarship if they initiate the program during their freshman year. The College Program offers a stipend during the junior and senior years, leading to a commission in either the Navy or Marine Corps.
